How to read the weightage tables

Weightage is the average share of total marks a chapter has contributed across JEE Main papers from 2015 to 2025. “Typical Questions” is the approximate count per paper session based on NTA's historical pattern. Numbers vary slightly between January and April sessions but the order of chapters is stable.

How to use this syllabus in your prep plan

  1. Mark any chapter with ≥ 5% weightage as Priority 1 — cover theory + all PYQs first.
  2. Chapters between 3% and 5% are Priority 2 — cover after Priority 1 reaches strong, consistent accuracy.
  3. Chapters below 3% are Priority 3 — skim theory, skim NCERT, then one PYQ pass.
  4. Review your mock test weakness map monthly — promote any low-accuracy chapter one priority level up.
  5. In the last 30 days, focus exclusively on PYQs and full-length mocks. No new theory.
