- Block 2 — Mid-layer (3 weeks): Thermodynamics, Oscillations & Waves, EMI & AC. Numerical discipline matters here.

The PYQ Rule

We counted every question from JEE Main papers between 2015 and 2025 (both January and April sessions) and mapped each to the chapter it tests. The percentage is that chapter's share of total marks across all papers in that window. Variations of ±1–2 percentage points from year to year are normal.
Should I skip low-weightage chapters?
No — JEE Main rewards full syllabus coverage because each question is worth 4 marks. Even a 2% chapter is worth 6 marks, which often moves your rank by thousands. Prioritise high-weightage chapters, but do a minimum pass on everything.
Do these Physics chapters also carry the highest weightage in JEE Advanced?
Mostly yes — Mechanics, Electrostatics and Modern Physics are dominant in both exams. JEE Advanced leans a bit more into Electromagnetism and Modern Physics multi-concept problems, so treat this list as a strong prior but verify against the last 5 Advanced papers.
